Located about 50
kms from Yanam, it is also called Second Kasi with Padagaya Temple
which is one of the oldest temples in India and is the abode of
Kukkuteswara Swami. The best period to visit this temple is during
January-February when Kukkuteswara Tirtham is celebrated for five
days.
Lord Shiva is in the form of Cock shape and is called "Kukkuteswara
Swamy" and his consort Parvathi is called "Raja Rajeswari".
The Nandi in front of Shiva Linga is also very famous. There is
one Durga Temple in the campus of this temple which is also one
of the AshtaDasa Pithas of Durga Goddess.

Hallowed as 'swayam bhoolingam' and the place where great sage Vyasa
with his followers worshipped Kukkuteswara Swamy, Sri Kunthimadhava Swamy,
Peethikamba and Hoonkarini Shakti, the linga here has wings on either
side.
