Located about 90 km from Kakinada, 50 Km from Rajahmundry and 25 Km from Amalapuram, it is a popular pilgrim centre, one among the many pilgrim centres of Bhima Mandalam. It is said that there used to be 7 Mantapams in the premises of the temple and one can see even today Somavari Mantapam, Mangalavara Matapam, Vuyyala Mantapam, Nityastana Mantapam and Chiluku Dwadasi Mandapam, while others are in ruin.
